A virtuoso Canadian-American pianist and composer nominated for 11 GRAMMY awards, Marc-André Hamelin is recognized worldwide for his consummate musicianship in established repertoire, and contemporary works alike. Candlelight audiences that loved Hamelin’s virtual appearance in 2020 on our digital stage will be thrilled to witness him live at the stunning Linehan Hall. The evening’s program includes a performance of Beethoven’s titanic Hammerklavier Sonata, Op. 106, and also offers concertgoers a rare opportunity to hear the Maryland premiere of one of Hamelin’s own compositions.
